⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I honestly didn’t know what to expect when Smith Grading LLC started my project, but within ten minutes I knew I had the right people for the job. This father-and-son team works together with a level of skill and coordination that is impressive to watch. They communicated with hand signals, worked in tandem, and handled their equipment with the confidence and precision that only comes from years of experience. I grew up around backhoes and bulldozers, and I can honestly say I’ve rarely seen anyone operate machinery the way these two do. What impressed me beyond their equipment skills was their knowledge and vision. As the project progressed, an unexpected situation developed that required a retaining wall. Instead of treating it like a problem, they saw a solution. The father’s recommendation is now being implemented, and it turned what could have been an issue into an improvement. These aren’t people who simply run equipment. They understand grading, drainage, and how to shape land properly. They work efficiently, communicate well, and clearly take pride in what they do. If you’re looking for experienced professionals who know their craft and care about doing things right, I highly recommend Smith Grading LLC.

The owner Cody Smith is a stand-up guy ! When we needed help tearing out a beaver dam, he showed up with his excavator ready to work and immediately made a huge difference in the efficiency of the project He was fast, efficient, reasonably priced, and easy to work with from start to finish. It's hard to find contractors who combine quality work, reliability, and fair pricing the way he does. I would not hesitate to hire him again. 10/10 — highly recommend Smith Grading LLC.

Cody and his team are terrific. We are talking clearing a 1/4 mile road putting in gravel and a culvert which got him to the 8 acres of forest to clear for 3 houses. Oh then he cleared the path and laid the conduit for electric to the houses. Cody got high praise from one of the home construction PMs as well as the chief engineer of the electric utility. We were blessed to have him as our "dirt guy." See before and after on one small section of road then views of cleared homesites.

I hired Cody based on local's recommendations. I'm glad I did. Cody is a young, very likeable person. Cody came to my home to discuss the project, agreed to the project scope and costs. The project consisted of excavating an existing drainage ditch that was full of rocks and debris to the extent is was not functional and installing 18" HDPE double-walled culvert. The end result is excellent. Not only do I now have a fully functional drainage system, but I also have more useable land which increases the value of my home. I fully recommend Cody Smith LLC.

We’ve had Cody with Smith Grading look at several jobs for us, and we’ve been extremely impressed. Cody was able to plot out and dig a drainage ditch for me several months ago. I was experiencing detrimental runoff from rain and living on a hill. My septic tank was being unearthed, a huge ditch was about to wipe out my deck stairs not to mention an enormous loss of soil . His plan was exactly what was needed!! His work has most definitely made a difference in what’s happening in my yard! It’s finally looking like it’s back to normal with new growth! Needed a spot leveled out on a sloped yard. He showed up an hour and a half early, tackled it with no problem. Would hire again!
